                                                Your Cats Look Like Taxicabs to Me

                                                                        Your cats look like taxi-cabs to me.

                                                              Silent little yellow things

                                                                        with headlamp eyes and billboard tales

                                                                        and comfortable backbone bumpers,

                                                           lined up in a row against

                                                                        the side of the kitchen curb

                                                                        while they wait for their

                                                                        five o'clock suppertime fare;

                                                                        meanwhile checkin' out the want ads underneath

                                                                        the kitchen table, their motors

                                                                        idling.
